ABOUT THE ARTIST
Jan Durina, born in 1988, is a Slovak multimedia artist who focuses mainly on photography. His works, with their characteristic strong visual style, often materialize and revolve around psychological themes – death, violence, inner conflicts or depression. All of Durina’s photographs maintain their almost symbolistic nature. Sensitive, regardful work with the human body, roughness of nature and play of light and shadow are all characteristic of his works. Besides photography, he works with sound, video and performance.
Jan Durina currently resides and works in Berlin.
